Thomas J. Overbye is an associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983, 1988 and 1991 respectively. From 1983 to 1991 he was employed with Madison Gas and Electric Company, where he helped develop their real-time power system analysis software. In 1993 he was the recipient of the IEEE Power Engineering Society Walter Fee Outstanding Young Engineer Award. Address: Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 1406 W.
