Steven L. Garrett received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1977 and is currently the United Technologies Professor in the Graduate Program in Acoustics and a Senior Scientist with the Applied Research Laboratory, both at the Pennsylvania State University.
