Kevin White earned a Ph.D. in remote sensing from the University of Reading in 1990. He spent the next three years@the University of Oxford and worked for one year@the University of Canterbury in New Zealand before returning to the University of Reading to join the faculty. White has a total of 20 years of experience conducting research in desert areas, notably in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. He specializes in the application of satellite remote-sensing technology to the study of these inaccessible areas.
