Aldemaro Romero is dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of biological sciences@Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. One of his areas of research is the evolutionary biology of cave organisms, particularly fishes. He received his Ph.D. in biology@the University of Miami. The author of almost 600 scholarly works, he recently wrote Cave Biology: Life in Darkness (Cambridge University Press, 2009).
