Heather Olins is a doctoral candidate in the lab of Peter Girguis in the department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University. She studies microbial ecology at deep sea hydrothermal vents and is passionate about communicating science to the public. She is a former classroom teacher, amateur photographer, and an all around nature nerd.
