Lewis Pyenson is SLEMCO/Board of Regents Professor of Liberal Arts@the University of Louisiana@Lafayette and author of a trilogy about science and imperialism in the modern world. Most recently he coedited with Jean-François Gauvin The Art of Teaching Physics: The Eighteenth-Century Demonstration Apparatus of Jean-Antoine Nollet (Septentrion, 2002). He is completing a book about George Sarton, founder of history of science in America.
