Stephen P. Lownie is a neurosurgeon and neurointerventionalist, and professor in the Departments of Clinical Neurological Sciences and Medical Imaging, at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. He is the first Canadian to be trained and practice in both neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology. He is an attending neurosurgeon and neurointerventionalist at London Health Sciences Centre, where he served as chief of neurosurgery from 2000 to 2005 and as co-chair/co-chief of clinical neurological sciences from 2000 to 2010. In 2009 he introduced robotic-controlled intraoperative angiography into a neurosurgical operating room, a first in North America.
