Shirley Strum Kenny, president of the State University of New York@Stony Brook since 1994, chaired the Boyer Commission on Educating Undergraduates in the Research University. An accomplished literary scholar, she was a speaker@the 1999 Sigma Xi Forum, which helped launch Sigma Xi's program on dissemination of best practices in inquiry-based undergraduate science education.
