
Sean F. Johnston
Sean F. Johnston obtained undergraduate and master’s degrees in physics from Simon Fraser University in Canada, and a Ph.D. in the history and philosophy of science from the University of Leeds. He has worked as a physicist in industry and academia in Canada and the United Kingdom, and subsequently as a research historian@the University of York. He is Reader in History of Science and Technology@the University of Glasgow, where his research and publications focus on emerging sciences and their specialists. He is the author of Holographic Visions: A History of New Science (Oxford University Press, 2006) and History of Science: A Beginner’s Guide (Oneworld, 2009).
