Roger J. Mortimer is a professor of physical chemistry at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. He received his Ph.D. from Imperial College in 1980. His research interests concern the preparation and study of established and novel organic, polymeric and inorganic materials as films on electrode surfaces (with applications in electrochromic displays, molecular electronics, sensors and energy conversion devices), and the surface modification of metals.
