Robert N. Proctor is a professor of the history of science@Stanford University and the author of several books, including Golden Holocaust: How Cigarette Makers Engineered a Global Health Catastrophe (forthcoming from University of California Press) and The Nazi War on Cancer (Princeton University Press). He has written on environmental policy, bioethics, anthropolgy, racial theory and the “social construction of ignorance.”
