Paolo Mancosu

Paolo Mancosu is a professor of philosophy@the University of California, Berkeley. His main interests are in logic, history and philosophy of mathematics, and history and philosophy of logic. He is the author of Philosophy of Mathematics and Mathematical Practice in the Seventeenth Century (Oxford University Press, 1996) and editor of From Brouwer to Hilbert: The Debate on the Foundations of Mathematics in the 1920s (Oxford University Press, 1988). He has recently coedited the volumes Visualization, Explanation and Reasoning Styles in Mathematics (Springer, 2005) and The Philosophy of Mathematical Practice (Oxford University Press, 2008). He was a 2008 Guggenheim Fellow, and in the spring of 2009 he was member of the Institute for Advanced Study.
