Michael Taylor

Michael R. Taylor is a Senior Fellow at Resources for the Future, an independent, nonprofit research organization, where he directs the Risk, Resource, and Environmental Management Division; leads the food safety program; and chairs the steering committee of the Food Safety Research Consortium, a multidisciplinary, collaborative effort with five universities. He is an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center and a member of the Board of Trustees of Resolve, Inc., a nonprofit organization for environmental and public health mediation and dispute resolution. He also serves as cochair of a National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Committee on the Use of Third Party Toxicity Research with Human Participants and is a member of the NAS Committee on the Implications of Dioxin in the Food Supply.In the past Taylor has served as Vice President for Public Policy at Monsanto Company, Administrator of the Food Safety and Inspection Service in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Deputy Commissioner for Policy at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
