Neil Todd earned a BSc in theoretical physics and a PhD in psychology from the University of Exeter in the UK, then held a postdoctoral position at City and Sheffield Music Departments, before being appointed as a lecturer in perception at at the University of Manchester, specialising in hearing and balance. He is presently an honorary lecturer in neuroscience at Manchester, and works as a freelance scientific consultant, writer, composer, and musician.
