
Mark Bertness
Mark Bertness is Robert P. Brown Professor of Biology and chair of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Brown University. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland in 1979 and has been at Brown ever since. He studies the ecology and conservation of natural shoreline communities. Bertness also works extensively in Argentina and Chile on salt-marsh and rocky-shore ecology and conservation.
