Lynn Helena Caporale obtained her Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1973. She has worked as an assistant professor of biochemistry at the Georgetown University Medical Center and as a senior research fellow and a senior director at Merck & Co. She is now a consultant and independent investigator. She discusses many of the ideas presented here in her book Darwin in the Genome, recently published by McGraw-Hill.
