Louise M. Ball is an associate professor in the School of Public Health@the University of North Carolina@Chapel Hill, where she also directs the Environmental Health Sciences Program in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. She teaches courses in environmental toxicology and risk assessment and studies the mechanisms of metabolic activation of mutagenic and carcinogenic environmental pollutants.
