Karl Sigmund is a professor of mathematics at the University of Vienna. His interests include game dynamics (replicator dynamics, adaptive dynamics), game-theoretic models for the evolution of cooperation, experimental economics, and the history of the Vienna Circle. He is the author of, among other books, Games of Life: Explorations in Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour (Oxford University Press, 1993) and The Calculus of Selfishness (Princeton University Press, 2009).
