Raymond G. De Vries is a professor of bioethics at the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine at the University of Michigan. He received a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California, Davis. He is writing a social history of bioethics and researching the internationalization of ethics guidelines.
