John S. Daniel is a research scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He has been at NOAA since earning his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1993. He has focused his primary research in the fields of ozone depletion and climate change, but he is fascinated by historical meteorology.
