John Hallett is a professor of atmospheric physics@the Desert Research Institute of the University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada. He has studied the growth and electrical properties of ice, both in the laboratory and in the atmosphere, and has been developing instrumentation for characterizing ice in cirrus clouds.
