
John Edward Thomas
John E. Thomas was recently named Fritz London Distinguished Professor of Physics@Duke University and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He received his doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979. His primary area of research is quantum optics, and his research team was the first, in 2001, to achieve all-optical trapping of degenerate Fermi gases.
