Jérôme Kasparian is an investigator in Jean-Pierre Wolf's group@the Laboratoire de spectrométrie ionique et moléculaire (LASIM), part of France's Centre national de la recherche scientifique and Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. He received his Ph.D. in 1997@the LASIM, where he studied lidar remote sensing and the optical properties of aerosols. He then joined the Institute for Optics and Quantum Electronics@the Friedrich Shiller Universität in Jena, Germany, where his main interest was the nonlinear optics and propagation of ultrashort, high-power laser pulses through the atmosphere. He participated in launching the French-German Teramobile collaboration before returning to Lyon as the coordinator of this project.
