Jay M. Pasachoff is Field Memorial Professor of Astronomy as well as the director of the Hopkins Observatory at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Along with The Sun, he and Leon Golub have coathored two other books: The Solar Corona and Nearest Star: The Surprising Science of Our Sun.
