Greg Dunn received a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania; more recently, he has used art to explore the interplay of randomness and order in tissues of the brain. In 2013, his work received first prize in the International Science & Engineering Visualization Challenge sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
