Brian G. Southwell, PhD, is Lead Scientist for Public Understanding of Science at the nonprofit research institute RTI International. He also is an adjunct faculty member at Duke University (in internal medicine), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (in public health) and the University of Delaware (in communication).
