Aidan Arnold is a lecturer in atom optics at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He received his D.Phil. from the University of Sussex in 1999 for his magnetic focusing experiments with the first Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in the United Kingdom. Aided by his Royal Society of Edinburgh Fellowship, his team created one of the first storage rings for BECs in 2005.
