To the Editors:

After reading “Plants as Teachers and Witnesses” by Beronda Montgomery (January–February), I could feel the author’s love for the beauty and complexity of trees. The article was beautifully written, which made it fun to read as well as informative. I will now forever look at a tree not just for its aesthetics, but with an understanding of the complexities of its life. I would like to thank the author for such an interesting perspective.
