
Martin Davis
Martin Davis is professor emeritus in the department of computer science and the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences@New York University. He is the author of Computability and Unsolvability (McGraw-Hill,1958; reprinted by Dover in 1983) and The Universal Computer: The Road from Leibniz to Turing (W. W. Norton, 2000), the paperback version of which is titled Engines of Logic: Mathematicians and the Origins of the Computer (W. W. Norton, 2001).
